Blogger Brunch at Eat with Fingers

Hey lovely readers!

Welcoming you in this beautiful restaurant for the 2nd edition of our blogger brunch! You may have already read about my first vegan experience at Eat with Fingers and the community of local female bloggers that I created 3 years ago, the Zoli Bloguettes.

Today I’m sharing with you the amazing event gathering our collective of women writers which was held on Sunday 25th August. Brace yourself for our greenery tablescape, handmade goodies from our local sponsors and the food, eating less from a box and more from the earth!

I am insanely grateful to Geraldine, the co-owner of Eat with Fingers who welcomed us exclusively for our #ZoliBrunch. We had the restaurant for ourselves and had our very own mini cooking workshop. Since this stunning vegan restaurant in Grand-Baie is furnished beautifully with macramé and plants, we embraced the vibe and went with an organic table decor full of succulents, driftwood and palm leaves.

Our Zoli Bloguettes were welcomed with homemade lemon ice-tea and non-alcoholic sangria as they stepped in this much awaited event. As appetizers we had a good crunch & munch with delicious homemade basil pesto and tomato toasts. I felt like a chef having to scoop with my spoon to taste in the kitchen before serving. Geraldine if you are reading this, I’m available for duty!

The blogger brunch is an occasion for us to host our members, introduce them to new places around the island, share our passion for blogging but also our challenges and wins in everyday life and support local businesses and artisans. This is what the community is all about: Support. Thrive.

Back to the vegan savoriness! On the menu crafted with love, we had finger-licking hummus with pretzels and veggie sticks to dip it real good! Honestly, my favorite dip. Each bite was packed with flavor and freshness.

As main course we indulged in our very own creations: vegan pizzas! A delicious and quick recipe topped with vegan cheese & ham, tomatoes, olives, corn and a drizzle of pesto (brilliant idea from my table partner Mia!).

If you step in Eat with Fingers, be sure to step out with the signature vegan brownie! A creation of Michael (Geraldine’s husband, aka the brownie extraordinaire). Sorry for that bite – my greed got the best of me on this one!

Our #ZoliBrunch wouldn’t be a wrap without our Zoli Tote Bag! Right this way to unpack the goodies from our local sponsors and discover local islander artisans!

Our partner since our very first event, GrafiTag. Our eco-friendly totes are now proudly certified by Made In Moris.

New addition to our collection of branded items are our wooden keyrings from GrafiTag! Giving us serious beach vibes right? Facebook | Instagram

Our organic table decor was elevated with the ethical plates from Outgrowing Mauritius. A collective of women who craft biodegradable plates from palm leaves. They are reusable and microwave friendly! Facebook | Instagram

Here is a glimpse of our prints for the event! Designed by yours truly, it was printed on chlorine free-paper which was sourced from sustainable forests. An environmentally preferable alternative should you wish to print, available at Le Cigne Bookshop in Rose-Hill.

An empowering creation designed by Ayman from Bloom. A key-chain macramé symbolic of perseverance and femininity, every knot of the way! Facebook | Instagram

Those notebooks don’t need introduction as they speak for themselves – just because they own the space they are in! Created by the collective Esafodaz, which supported me for my website launch. I am keeping this one to turn a new page on the 2nd October – my Birthday! Mo Zistwar: My Story. Facebook | Instagram

Kotpiale knows how to shake things up in a party! Those fun coasters will be conversation starters and definitely pair beautifully with your drink! Vid dan mo ver: Pour in my glass! P.S: This is a detox smoothie, I wish it was beer for the photo but it was 10 am!

Islander essentials? Seashell earrings of course! Thank you to Keshini for those tropical infused jewelry! If you are pretty sure your birthstone is a seashell, you will yearn for her handmade designs. Facebook | Instagram

BIG thank you to our sponsors for supporting us for our blogger brunch and to our amazing collective of women bloggers for making this event a memorable one!
