Dodo Café is the first specialty coffee roastery in Mauritius. This mug-nificent local artisan business has been exploring the many wonders of coffee making since 1990!
Although they have an array of unique products available, today will be all about shining the light on their recently launched compostable and biodegradable eco-capsules.
Nature lovers at heart, Dodo Café is grounded into ethical coffee practices. One of their core beliefs is that eco-friendly shouldn’t compromise the divine taste of coffee. This is how, in 2020 (well atleast something positive happened that year!), they designed the first plant-based and compostable coffee capsule in the island.

6. Preservation of our endemic species
Dodo Café supports our local NGO, the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation. Their mission is to restore our fragile ecosystem and help in the conservation of the flora and fauna. Purchasing the plant-based capsules also means you are contributing financially to the NGO.

7. Specialty Grade
The eco-capsules in Mauritius comes in three divine flavours: Espresso Blend, Grand Cru and Crema. You can taste the decades of knowledge and expertise infused in those variations.
Espresso Blend is an ode to Italy with a Brazilian blend, Ethiopian coffee and Robusta beans. Crema (my favourite!) is 100% Arabica of Brazilian Santos and Ethiopian beans.
It is so smooth and fruity, I fell in love at the first sip. Then we have the Grand Cru which is the less intense of all three. A 100% Arabica of Colombian and Brazilian Santos beans.

Due to the current lock-down in Mauritius, the free delivery is for a minimum of Rs. 1,000 all around Mauritius, except for the red zones.
